You may already know that turmeric is the spice that gives your curry powder in the kitchen its yellow color. What you may not have known is that Turmeric is also a very powerful ingredient in your skincare routine.
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties that can have a very beneficial effect on your skin.
Turmeric powder can help fight acne, psoriasis, eczema and also help heal wounds. Furthermore, it can also lighten the pigmentation and improve the elasticity of the skin, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Application
You can use turmeric:
- Against acne: Mix a little turmeric powder with water or coconut oil until you get a relatively solid substance. Apply to acne-prone areas with a cotton swab or finger. Leave on for 10 minutes and then wash off. Apply once a day.
- If facemask. Mix 1 tablespoon yogurt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder and 1/2 teaspoon raw honey. Apply to your face and leave on for 10-20 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water or an oil cleanser. Do this several times a week.
