The main component of this essential oil is eucalyptol, which has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and restorative properties. That is why eucalyptus oil is one of the best oils for a dry throat, dry cough, allergies and headaches.

This Eucalyptus oil is made from the leaves of the Eucalyptus Citriodora tree, also called Lemon Eucalyptus. That is why it has a lemon/citronella-like smell.

Application

Eucalyptus oil can be used:

With irritated skin. Put two or three drops on a cotton swab and apply it to the irritated (scalp) skin.
In respiratory problems (eg asthma). Add a few drops to a bag of warm water and inhale the warm vapors for 5-10 minutes.
For coughing fits. Rub a few drops over the chest.
