Lavender oil is mister popular of the essential oils. The oil consists of more than 150 different molecules, including esters. These molecules have many stimulating, antioxidant and soothing properties.
Lavender oil is best applied diluted to the skin, and has many possible uses, both for the body and at home.
Application
Lavender oil can be used:
- As sedative against stress and to relax. Spread a few drops, diluted with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil, on your palms, and then inhale it.
- If sleeping aid. Spread a few drops on your pillow.
- With a insect bite. Rub a few drops, diluted with a carrier oil, on the bite to stop the swelling.
- Against eczema. Mix a few drops of lavender oil with coconut oil and massage it into the skin daily.
- Against dry skin. Rub a few drops of lavender oil, diluted with a carrier oil, directly on dry skin.
- Against hay fever. Spread a few drops, diluted with a carrier oil, on your palms, then inhale.
- Against dandruff. Massage a few drops, diluted with a carrier oil, onto the scalp.
