A real natural winner! Beeswax is a wax made by… wait for it… bees. The wax contains many antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that are essential for fighting dry and irritated skin and all kinds of bacterial infections.

It adds a protective layer to the skin by retaining moisture without affecting the to choke pores. Plus, beeswax is high in vitamin A, which can help reduce wrinkles and fine lines by moisturizing and repairing damaged skin cells.

Yellow Beeswax is obtained by melting the walls of the honeycomb made by the honeybee, Apis mellifera L., with warm water.

The wax adds a protective layer to the skin by retaining moisture without choking the pores.

Application

You can use beeswax:

• In your DIY body butter, to intensely hydrate your entire body. Below you will find a recipe to make your own body butter.
• In DIY lip balm. Mix two tablespoons of jojoba oil with two tablespoons of beeswax and a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Melt the jojoba oil and beeswax in a glass jar in a pan of water. After melting you can add the essential oils.

This is how you make a delicious, intense and nourishing body butter for your skin with beeswax.

You need the following ingredients:

• 50 grams of shea butter
• 25 ml coconut oil
• 12.5 ml sweet almond oil
• 7 ml jojoba oil
• 3.5 grams of beeswax
• ¼ tablespoon of vitamin e oil
• 3-4 drops of essential, e.g. tea tree, patchouli, lavender or franckinsense oil

Mix all ingredients except the vitamin E and essential oil of your choice in a glass bowl.

Gently melt the ingredients in this bowl in a pan filled with water.
Once the ingredients have melted, let them cool until the liquid has become opaque.

Add the vitamin E and essential oil to the butter, and beat the liquid for 3-5 minutes into a butter. You can also gently use a mixer for this.

Store the butter in a jar or tin in a cool place.
